Synopsis
The Legionnaire bridges The Last Cavalier and The Ballad of Franco Loco, following Adhemar Lacroix through betrayal, survival, and the unknowable path back to the son he never met. Once a ghost of the old world—trained in espionage and deception—Adhemar was imprisoned for ten years beneath the palace of the Duke of Cádiz, his silence bought with the threat of scandal and assassination. Upon release, blackmailed into servitude, he carried out dark deeds under royal command while secretly searching for his vanished son—Francois.
But Murin, his half-brother and lifelong rival, has buried the truth deeper than blood.
Defeated and grieving, Adhemar joins the French Foreign Legion to disappear from the world that broke him. At Camerone, he is given a second chance—by fate or by fire.
